Corinne Seel Allen, 78, of Longview, passed away Sept. 8, 2012, at a local nursing home.
She was born Jan. 14, 1934, in Bismarck, N.D., to Raymond and Marian (Dreveskracht) Retterath.
She graduated from high school in Beulah, N.D., in 1951 and from Jamestown College in North Dakota in 1953. She moved to the Longview area in 1953.
A homemaker, Corinne was a lifelong Christian and was a member of several local area churches throughout the years. She was a president of a local environmental activist group in the 1970s.
She enjoyed traveling, playing card games, watching old movies and studying her Bible.
She and George R. Seel were married Aug. 5, 1955. He preceded her in death in 2000. She then married Gordon H. Allen on July 21, 2001. He survives her at home in Salem, Ore.
Survivors also include sons Tom R. Seel of Liberty Township, Ohio, James L. Seel of Pulaski, Wis., and Charles E. Seel of Little Rock, Ark.; grandsons Andrew Seel of Pittsburgh and Bryan and Daniel Seel, both of Little Rock; granddaughter Olivia Amiott-Seel of Liberty Township; two brothers, Tom Retterath of Castle Rock and David Retterath of Longview; two half-brothers, Jerome Retterath of Santa Clara, Calif., and Jon Retterath of Maple Grove, Minn.; two half-sisters, Juanita Bauer of Mukilteo, Wash., and Joyce Weiland of Algoa, Texas; five stepchildren; and eight stepgrandchildren.
