Whitewater--John F. Ames, 93, of Janesville Health Care Center, a former Whitewater resident, died today in Mercy Hospital, Janesville.
Born here on August 25,1888. He married, Hattie Sheppard in 1909. She died in 1910. He married, Rose Alice Landers in 1911. She died in June 1941.
Ames had been empolyed 30 North Western Railroad and had farmed in Whitewater area.
Surviving are three sons, Otto,Edward, Thomas Ames and a daughter Rosemary Schultz of Janesville; 25 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Skindingsrude Funeral Home, with burial in Hillside Cemetery-Whitewater,WI. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral Home.
