Macon, GA- Ira Yvonne Wilson Huckaby Horton, 78, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Marty Meeks officiating. The family will greet friends from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Friday, September 14, 2012 at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted or donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 17 Executive Park Dr., Atlanta GA 30329.
Mrs. Horton was born in Griffin, Georgia to the late William Ira and Lula Carter Wilson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Horton, sister, Mae Wilson Head, brother, E.D. Wilson and sons, Jimmy Darrell Huckaby and Kenneth Bruce Huckaby.
She enjoyed cooking, canning and gardening, but most of all she was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her children, Charles David (Tammy) Huckaby of Griffin, GA and Bryan Mitchell Huckaby of Macon, GA, grandchildren, Lauren Huckaby, David Huckaby, III, Daniel (Jessica) Huckaby, Bryan Huckaby, II and finance' Brandi, Derrick Huckaby, Hannah Huckaby Long, and Sarah Anderson, great grandchildren, Jared Huckaby, Jacob Huckaby, Nathan Huckaby, Jonathan Huckaby, Joshua Huckaby, Stellar Huckaby, Bryan (Tripp) Huckaby, III, and Hannah Huckaby, and Hannah (Nick) Long, sister, Juanita Sorrow of Griffin, GA, brother, Larry Calliff of Plano, TX and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery has charge of the arrangements.
