Mrs. Sophia Hartman, 76, died at home near Dempseytown the morning of October 31, 1908.
She married Nicholas Hartman, who died in April, 1899. They had 11 children, 8 of whom survive, Emanuel and C. V., at home, Robert C. of Titusville, Samuel and Mrs. James Cauvel of Cherrytree, Homer of Gresham, Mrs. Lucy Lamberton of Bradleytown, and Mrs. Sarah Crispen of Portland, OR; 35 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lafayette Weikal of Falls City, OR, and L. C. Weikal of Sedelia, MO; and three sisters, Mrs. I. G Bean of Pittsburg, Mrs. W. Swarts of Meadville, and Mrs. J. Frankenberg of Dempseytown.
