Our loving father, Larry L. Howard, age 75, of Payson, Utah, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2012, after a long hard fight with cancer.

He was born April 26, 1937, in Payson, Utah, to Walter and Mary Ellen Topham Howard. He was raised by Wells and Vera Leona Hurst Cloward.

He married his eternal companion, Coleen Finlayson, December 12, 1968, in the Manti Utah Temple. She preceded him in death, October 16, 1998.

Larry graduated from Payson High School and Utah Trade Technical College. He worked as a welder, and later, for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the United States Army in Germany as a battalion welder. He enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, hunting, welding, crocheting, wood carving, candy making, cooking and spending time with grandkids, sister and brother. As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Larry served in various callings. He was a loving father, grandpa, brother and friend to many. He always had a prank or joke up his sleeve, and loved to share his food and produce.

Survivors include his children: Rory E. (Andrea) Howard, Orem; Alan L. (Tara) Howard, Saratoga Springs; Jennifer (Shane) Christensen, Santaquin; Melissa (J.D.) Nielsen, Kaleen (David) Simiskey, all of Payson; 14 grandchildren and numerous foster grandchildren; siblings: Ernest Weldon Howard, Mary Estelle (Neal) Porter, both of Payson; Jewel Knell, Provo; Avis Christiano, New Jersey; Isabell Carroll, Alabama. He was preceded in death by: His wife, his parents, and siblings, Walter Clifton Howard and Ethel May Howard.
