ROCKVILLE-Marian Lucille Alexander, 97, of Rockville, Indiana died at 5:40 am Sunday, September 9, 2012 in Rockville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was a homemaker.
She was born June 18, 1915 in Coloma, Indiana to the
late Wilmer Platter and Ora Baldwin Platter.
Her husband of 59 years, Donald E. Alexander whom she married November 24, 1934 in Crawfordsville, Indiana died February 8, 1994.
Survivors include one son, M.K. Alexander and his wife Aileen Alexander of Palm Beach, Florida; one daughter, Sue A. Smith of Montezuma, Indiana; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Lee R. Smith, brother, Leighton Platter and grandson Bob Alexander.
She was a 1933 graduate of Rockville High School and attended Indiana Business School. She was a member of Rockville Memorial Presbyterian Church, Gamma Sigma chapter associate of Rockville Tri-Kappa and several Bridge Clubs in Rockville.
Services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, September 12, in Gooch Funeral Home at 112 W. Howard Street in Rockville, with the Rev. Mark Olson officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville. Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Wednesday at Gooch Funeral Home.
