Born in Thompson, he was the son of the late Daniel and Pearl Guthrie Seeman.
He served in the U.S.Navy during World War II in the Pacific. While enlisted, he attended Yale, Harvard and MIT for radar training. He graduated from Carnegie-Mellon University with a degree in mechanical and electrical engineering.
He was the East Coast regional manager for Elliott Company of Jeanette, until his retirement.
He was a member of Pocono Lake United Methodist Church, a Mason with the Forest Hill Lodge of Lyndhurst, Ohio, and a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity at Carnegie-Mellon University.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, Skip of Hernando, Fla., and John and his wife, Mary Pat, of Hillsborough, N.J.; daughters, Paula Burkhardt and her husband, Karl, of Fairport, N.Y., and Kelli Smith and her husband, Chuck, of Saddle Brook, N.J.; a sister, Wilma Ainsworth of Chambersburg; mother-in-law Elizabeth Hill of Southampton; and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a time to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to an ambulance corps of the donor's choice.
