Victim of Flight 93

Lauren had traveled to Carlstadt, New Jersey to attend her Grandmother's funeral. On September 11, Lauren was returning home to San Rafael in Marin County, California. She arrived 90 minutes early at Newark International Airport, and was able to book an earlier flight to San Francisco International Airport. Tragically, this early morning switch put her on the doomed United Flight 93. Ironically, the 8:00 am departure, was pushed to 8:42 am, just four minutes before American Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. The hijacking began at 9:28 am and the plane crashed at 10:03 am. Lauren was among the men and women who died fighting a battle that almost certainly prevented a much larger tragedy.

Lauren had called her husband before takeoff, and again from the rear of the plane where the hijackers had forced the passengers and crew to sit. Sadly, her husband was sleeping on west coast time and they never spoke on that fateful day.

At the time of her death, her husband was having her diamond wedding ring re-banded. After years of trying, they were finally going to have a baby.

At the time of her death, at the age of 38, Lauren was three months pregnant.
