Isaac Marion Copeland was killed in the Civil War during a skirmish at Cold Harbor, Virginia. In 1994 a grave marker in his memory was placed in the Bowling Cemetery in Leon County, Texas between his parents William A. & Hannah Cartwright Copeland and his brother Steve Warner Copeland. As of August 2012 the marker has disappeared.
