Harry was the oldest son of John K. and Eva M. (Cantwell) Loughlin. Harry was named after his father's brother Henry Clay Loughlin, a prominent attorney in Philadelphia. He was brother to Caroline "Carrie" E Loughlin McNally, Edward C. Loughlin, Kathleen Marie Loughlin Prince, Eleanor Loughlin, Evelyn Loughlin Vanderslice, Mary L. Loughlin Hickey, John "Jack" Kane Loughlin III and Alice F Loughlin. In 1913 Harry married Rosemary E. Larkin in what his sister Mary described as a nice Catholic wedding to a beautiful girl. Harry worked as a saleman. Harry and Rosemary had no children.
