Wanda North Allen, 89, died peacefully September 8, 2012 at Utah Regional Medical Center of lung failure due to pneumonia.

She was born June 21, 1923 in Hyrum, Utah to Owen Levi and Nora Wright North. She married her high school sweetheart, Murray Francis Allen April 22, 1944 in Santa Barbara, California shortly before he left for the South Pacific to serve with the Marine Corps in WWII. Wanda and her sister-in-law Mildred worked for the U.S. Navy supporting the war effort. She felt privileged to support her new husband in this way, not knowing whether she would see him again. Later she was sealed to Murray and their children in the Salt Lake Temple June 6, 1963.

She is survived by her four children, Kristine Wilde (John), Michael (Suzette), Frank (Kathy), and Leon (Jeanne). 16 grand children and 26 great-grand children have loved her, been inspired by her, and called her "Grandma". She was preceded in death by her husband, Murray and infant daughter, Kathleen.

Wanda loved working and serving at the Wash Tub Laundry in Spanish Fork, Utah for 36 years and made many friends in Spanish Fork and the surrounding communities. For 16 years she owned and operated AB Diaper Service and served many young mothers in Utah County.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing, caning chairs, and cooking. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully throughout her life in the Primary, Young Women, Scouting, and Relief Society Organizations. She is currently a member of the Kolob 1st Ward in Springville, Utah. Wanda served, with her husband in the MTC, where he was a branch president and especially enjoyed mingling with the newly called sister missionaries. Wanda and Murray made many friends through that service.
