"Douglas Brown, 69, Western Reserve Road, died of a stroke Tuesday morning in the Gregg Rest Home in Salem. He had been in failing health for two years. Born in Gillam, Mo., March 9th, 1895, he was a son of James and Alice Brown, and most of his life was spent in Mahoning county. He was a veteran of World War I, and a member of the Ellsworth Presbyterian church. He was last employed by the American Fire Clay & Products Co. at Marquis. Surviving are his wife, the former Ina Esterly, to whom he was married Jan. 2, 1918; a daughter, Mrs. Hubert Hedricks of Canfield, three sons, Richard of California and Robert and Edward of Canfield, a sister, Mrs. Frank Zimmerman Tippecanoe Road; a brother, Dallas Brown of Ellsworth; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Prof. Cochran, were held Thursday afternoon at the Williams Funeral Home, and interment made in the Ellsworth cemetery."
