Death Among Prominent Citizen
ISAAC HASLET
Isaac N. Haslet was born in Carroll County, Indiana on July 8, 1842, and departed this life March 11, 1925, aged 82 years, 8 months and 3 days. He leaves to mourn his loss a widow; two sons: Howard H.; James C. of Rainsville; three daughters: Ida Miller of Owasco; Josephine Armstrong of Portland, Oregon; Estella Shaffer of Cutler; one stepdaughter: Nellie M. Long of Frankfort; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He has been a member of Masonic Lodge N. 608 of Sedalia since 1876. Mr. Haslet had been a resident of Carroll county all his life. A useful citizen, kind and thoughtful neighbor--always ready to help, as long as his health would permit. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. The funeral was conducted by Reverend Prentice assisted by Reverend Carter of Cutler.




Isaac N Haslet was the son of William Haslet, Sr (1806 – 1866) & his first wife Mary Stewart (1812 – 1849)

He was married 17 Apr 1868 in Carroll Co, IN to Mary E Starkey (1842–1878)

Isaac & Mary were the parents of:

1. Lidda Josephine Haslet (1869–1921), w/o Forrest Armstrong
2. William Wallace Haslet (1871–1872)
3. James Carter Haslet (b: c.1873), h/o 1) Silvia May Bartlett 2) Mary C "Carrie" Irwin
4. Ida Mary Haslet (1876–1925), w/o Andrew J Miller
5. Jasper S. Haslet (1867–1873)

Isaac was married again on 16 Jun 1881 in Carroll Co, IN to Mrs Elizabeth J Flynn, nee Howard (1855–1928) of KY, who had 2 daughters Nellie and Daisy Flynn.

Isaac & Elizabeth were the parents of:
1. Estella M "Stella" Haslet (1882 – 1921), w/o William F Shaffer
2. Bessie E Haslet (1885–1921), w/o Maurice Milton Black
3. Howard H. Haslet (1889–1980), h/o Mary Butcher
