Betsy was the daughter of Joseph Howard Gray and Anna (Custer) Gray of Floyd County, Virginia. On September 23, 1832 she married the widower Reuben Harris. She helped raise his many children by his first wife, as well as the five children they had together. Reuben passed in 1842.
On April 25, 1847 Betsy married Samuel W Mann in Lone Jack, Jackson, Missouri. He had several children himself, from his earlier marriage. He died on October 13, 1865. She died that December.
