Royce D. Been, 77, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Monday, September 10, 2012 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born August 22, 1935 to Pruitt and Elizabeth Been at Cornish, Arkansas. He was a retired home builder in the Greenwood area for over 50 years, member of the Greenwood First Baptist Church, 32 degree mason and member of Greenwood Lodge # 131 F&AM. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Barbara Harkreader.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 12 at the Greenwood First Baptist Church with burial at Liberty Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Tuesday from 1 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends form 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.

He is survived by his companion, Jerri Brown; one son, Butch Been of Greenwood; one daughter, Becky Ledbetter and husband, Patrick of Greenwood; one brother, Richard Been of Greenwood; one sister, Ann Kesner and husband, Jerry Don of Greenwood; eight grandchildren and one great grandson and special friends, Mike and Larry Brown and Max.

Pallbearers will be Daymon Burris, J.C. Hamilton, Bill McAlister, Clyde Holland, John Paul Walker and Danny King.
