Norma Jean "Wilma" Harden, age 73, of Bloomington, died Friday morning at I.U. Health; Bloomington Hospital. Born February 12, 1939 in Monroe County, she was the daughter of Alva Grubb, Sr. and Anna Marie (McGlothlin) Grubb. She did custodial work for several different companies in Bloomington and also Indiana University before retiring. She liked to sew, loved to hunt mushrooms, was a gifted artist and was a member of Arbutus Community Church. She loved her family and especially her three dogs, Buttons, Pumpkin and Shorty.
She is survived by her five sons; Clifford Lee Harden (Bobbie Jo), Wayne Edward Harden (Janet), Roger Dale Harden, David Dean Harden (Marilyn Ruth) and Michael Joe Harden (Peggy Jane), all of Bloomington, one sister, Altha Jean Crouch, of Bloomington; ten grandchildren, Bobbie Sue, Joey, Wayne Earl, Jessie, Brittany, Mikey, Robert "L.D.", Amanda Rose, Zack and Marshall; ten great-grandchildren and one due to be born in January.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Earl C. Harden, on August 2, 1991; one granddaughter, Natasha Ruble and seven siblings, Kenneth Grubb, Melvin Grubb, Verdia Grubb, Gene Grubb, Alva Grubb, Jr., Roger Grubb and Glodene Hamm.
The funeral service will be held on Monday at 2:00 P.M. at Day Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bruce Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in Knightridge Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Sunday (8/19) from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 12 noon until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given to Day Funeral Home to help the family with the funeral expenses.
