Miss Violet Siegwald, 17, 1019 East Sixth street, New Albany, was killed and six other persons were injured when a light roadster in which they rode turned over twice on State Road No. 62, six miles west of New Albany at 4:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon. All the accident victims were spilled on the road. . . The driver, 18, Georgetown, Ind., blamed a blowout in one of the front tires for the accident. He was driving from Lanesville to New Albany and was moving at about twenty-five miles an hour he said. . . Miss Siegwald apparently was instantly killed. [A neighbor], who lives near the scene, told police that she heard the blowout and saw the car turn two somersaults in the middle of the road and stop standing on its wheels at the side of the highway. – Jeffersonville Evening News 22 Jan 1933
