David W. Cook, whose funeral occurred from the Lutheran church here last
Thursday afternoon, was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Cook of Emlenton,
deceased. He died at New Castle at four o'clock Monday afternoon, October
19th, 1903, after an illness lasting two or three years from a complication
of diseases. Mr. Cook, formerly lived in this place where he was engaged at
various times in barbering, butchering and the livery business. He went from
Clarion to Oil City several years ago and continued the livery business.
Last spring, he moved to New Castle where his death occurred. He was 48
years old and is survived by his wife, formerly Katharine Groce, daughter of
John Groce of Paint township, also by three children Clyde, aged 21; Edna,
aged 15 and Mildred, aged 12 years. Mr. Cook was a member of the Lutheran
church. His early home was in the vicinity of Emlenton. He has a large
circle of friends both here and at the various places where he lived who
join us in extending sympathy to his wife and family.
