LILBOURN -- James David Dooley, 51, died Sept. 21, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Feb. 25, 1953, in Cape Girardeau, son of Cordey Dooley of Marston and the late Lillian Branham Dooley, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a self-employed carpenter.

On March 21, 1973, he married Joyce Ann Spence, who survives of the home in Lilbourn.

Survivors in addition to his wife and father include: one son, Jay Dooley of Lilbourn; one stepson and his wife, Larry and Sue Hakes of Portage, Ind.; three brothers, Raymond Dooley and Gary Dooley of Portageville and Clifford Dooley of Lilbourn; and four grandchildren, Jaycob Dooley Deal and Katelyne Deal of Litchfield, Ill., and Danielle Hakes and Austin Hakes of Portage.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Lilbourn, where services will be at 11 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Ed Thomason, Church of Christ pastor, will officiate.

Burial will follow with full military rites in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
