Mrs. Okla Wortman Talbert, age 96, of Chase City, died October 28, 2006.

She was a retired school teacher and a homemaker.

Mrs. Talbert was the widow of Dennis E. Talbert and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nora Ella Talbert and a grandson, Rance Talbert.

She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Surviving is a son, Dennis E. Talbert, Jr. and wife, Hope of Springfield, grandchildren, Dennis A. Talbert, Robert J. Talbert, Denise T. Skotzko, great grandchild, Rance Edward Skotzko, all of Springfield.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 1, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Burris conducting the service. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The Salvation Army, c/o Mrs. Kathryne Routt, 9041 Highway 92, Chase City Va. 23924, or First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 206 East Second St., Chase City, Va. 23924.
