One of Central City's oldest and most respected citizens--Mrs. Frank McLeod, was death's victim Sunday. She was born in Ohio, January 8, 1855, and was still a babe in arms when her parents came west via the covered wagon route. She was married in 1891, and her husband died just fifty years later. Two sons, Dr. E.A. McLeod, of Central City, and Dr. Frank McLeod, of Traer, and two daughters, Miss Carrie McLeod and Mrs. George Filloon, both of Central City remain to mourn the loss of their great mother. There are also five sisters, Mrs. J.E. Blodgett and Mrs. Flo Page, of Central City, Mrs. D.W. McLeod, of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Elmer Fay of Coggon and Mrs. Belle Kirkpatrick of Waterloo; a brother, James Leach, of Coggon; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Methodist church of which she had long been a faithful and active member.
