Minister Thurman Lee Attaway died Sunday, May 24, 1998, at Sister Hospital Maine Kenington, Buffalo, NY.


The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 29, 1998, at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, Greensboro, with the Rev. James Johnson officiating.


Thurman was a member of the Disabled Veterans of America and an Associate Minister of Cedar Grove Baptist Church.


Survivors include his wife, Delcina Attaway; son, Sean Warren; mother, Lillian Key; sisters, Tanya of Greensboro, Jancie, Willette, Sandra, Syble, Whaelia all of Detroit; brothers, James, Timothy, Joseph, Christopher all of Detroit and Earnest of Greensboro; special niece, Taryn; aunts, Douglas Gilmer of Greensboro, Margaret Williams of Baltimore, Md., Martha Attaway of Buffalo, NY; uncle, Gonzalee Attaway of Buffalo, NY; two great-aunts, Vera Hooker of Washington, DC and Lillie Triplin of Greensboro; mother and father-in-law, Herman and Lucy M. Dockery of Ellerbe, NC.


Viewing will start at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, at Community Funeral Home, 2003 E. Market St., Greensboro and on Friday, from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
