Mr. Tamber was born Dec. 31, 1925, in New Castle to Antonio and Maria DePreta Tamber,
On Aug. 21, 1948, he married Josephine "Chooky" Reda, who preceded him in death May 11, 1998.
Frank was a well-known and highly respected district justice in the Farrell and Hermitage areas, having served in that capacity from 1969 to 1988. In connection with this position, he attended Wilson College in Chambersburg, Pa., for training and continuing education classes. Prior to that, he was an alderman in the City of Farrell and also worked at the former Sharon Steel Corp.'s Farrell plant.
He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann Church in Farrell.
A graduate of Farrell High School, class of 1943, Mr. Tamber enlisted in the Navy, served on the USS Chevalier and saw action in the South Pacific theater during World War II. He was proud of the fact that he served as a ship's cook and was honorably discharged with the rating of Ship's Cook Third Class. Among his ribbons and medals were the Pacific Theater Ribbon, the American Theater Ribbon and Victory Medal.
He was active in many social, fraternal and veterans' organizations including the Italian Home, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5286, American Legion Post 160, The Christopher Columbus Society, Wolfs Club, the Bethony Club of Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann Church and Fraternal Order of Police, all in Farrell. He was a member of the Democratic committee in Farrell.
For 15 years, Mr. Tamber coached Farrell Little League and Babe Ruth baseball.
Survivors include: his son, Frank Tamber Jr. and his fiancée Debra Clarke, Hermitage; a daughter, Joanne Retone and her husband Anthony, with whom he made his home in Farrell; five grandsons, Marc and Frank Tamber; and Edward Nicastro and his wife Tina; and Gino and Justin Nicastro; two stepgranddaughters, Leslie Retone Savage and Leah Retone; a great-granddaughter, Sophia Nicastro; and two stepgreat-grandsons, Anthony Retone and Matayo Savage.
Frank was preceded in death by a beloved daughter, Roseanne Tamber.
The last of many brothers and sisters, he was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Joseph, Michael, Thomas, Louis, Carmen and Anthony; and four sisters, Rose Celenzi, Anna Marini, Laura Toskin and Sylvia Munger.

Burial: St. Anthony's Cemetery, Hermitage, with the Sharon Honor Guard rendering military honors.
