Funeral services for Oliver Thumma, who died Jan. 6 in Carlisle after an illness of several weeks, were held at the residence Sunday. Burial was in Westminster cemetery. He was aged 78 years and formerly resided on the Brandon farm, Huntingdon township. In addition to his widow, Mrs. Margaret Thumma, he is survived by seven children, Mervin Thumma, Stone House; Mrs. Charles Day, Centerville; Mrs. Mervin Stoner, Moores Mill; Mrs. Margaret Fenton, Mrs. Alfred Bishop, Mrs. Roy W. Miller and Mrs. Lea Alspaugh, all of Carlisle. He is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
