Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie Benes, 41, who died Saturday afternoon, were held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. James' Catholic Church. Burial was in the Catholic Cemetery. Rev. James Wichterich officiated.
Mrs. Benes was born February 11, 1905, in Gonzales County, the daughter of Frank and Frances Malatek Zavadil. She was married to Joe Benes November, 10, 1925, and to them were born two children. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic church.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter Miss Viola Benes; a son, Wilbert Benes; her mother, Mrs. Frank Zavadil; three brothers, Frank Zavadi Jr. of Gonzales, Edwin Zavadil of Randolph Field and Anton Zavadil of Gonzales.
Pallbearers were Frank Benes,Charles Benes, John Benes, Louis Benes, Adolph Barta and Anton Zavadil.
