Louise Sandy Buckley, 93 of White Post, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2006, in Winchester Medical Center.
Mrs. Buckley was born Oct. 13, 1913, in Broadway, the daughter of Melvin K. and Cora Mason Sandy.
She was postmaster of the White Post Post Office and retired in 1984. She was a 1930 graduate of Stephens City High School and a member of White Post United Methodist Church.
She married Monroe Shiley Buckley on Oct. 13, 1934, in White Post. Mr. Buckley died Oct. 15, 1988.
Surviving are a son, Samuel R. Buckley of White Post; a daughter, Jane B. Lupton of White Post; a brother, William Sandy of Winchester; three sisters, Frances Shiley of White Post, Katherine Yancey of Stephens City, and Mary Ritter of Winchester; and two grandsons. Six brothers, Raymond Sandy, John Sandy, Robert Sandy, Melvin Sandy, Charles Sandy, and James Sandy, are deceased.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Shenandoah Memorial Park, with the Rev. Janet Grissett officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, Berryville.
