James Luby Bridwell, 78 passed away September 6, 2012 in Winnie, TX. He was born March 15, 1934 in Center, TX to Otto Vance Bridwell and Naomi Victoria Bishop. James came from a large family of eight children. His family moved to the Highlands area when he was very young. James was a radio dispatcher in the transportation industry and for over 25 years was the President of Jimco Delivery. During that time he was married to his lovely wife Betty and raised two sons. He enjoyed road trips and loved to travel the country in his motorhome. When they weren't traveling, he was supporting Betty at every choir practice. James was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending as much time as he could with the grandkids.

James is preceded by his parents, and five of his siblings. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty Joyce Morehead Bridwell as well as his sons, James and wife Amy and Terry and wife Tina. He is also survived by his sisters Sarah Walker and Bobbie Swanner, nine grandchildren (with one more to arrive soon) and three great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 9 at Sterling White Funeral Home from 5 – 8 pm. Services will be on Monday, September 10 at 10am with Rev. Susan Grittman officiating in the Chapel at Sterling White with burial to follow in Sterling White Cemetery. Honoring the family as pallbearers will be Jerry Tilton, Russell Fabian, Jacob Bridwell, Jared Bridwell, Jacob Fontenot and Rickey Bailey. Honorary pallbearers are Richard Bailey and James Bryant.
