DUNLAP, TN - Fred C. Ames, 71, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at his home. He was a Veteran of the United States Army.

Mr. Ames was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Helen Norris Ames; and mother, Genvieve Ames.

Survivors include his father, E.B. Ames; son, Tyrone (Audrey) Ames, Soddy-Daisy, TN; daughter, Tammy (Troy) Lockhart, Dunlap, TN; brother, Dick (Rose) Ames, Spokane, WA; grandchildren, Josh Ames, Courtney Ames, Samantha Lockhart and Michele Lockhart; great-grandchildren, Brandon Ames, Cameron Ames and Tiffany Hoover; and great-great-grandson, Dylan Griswold.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. CDT Friday, September 7, 2012, in the Ewton Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Brian Kearns officiating.

Burial will follow in Sequatchie County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation 2-8 p.m. CDT today.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the Sequatchie County Veterans Memorial Park, P.O. Box 1565, Dunlap, TN 37327.
