Alfred was born April 25, 1905, in Green County, Iowa. He was married to Mable Barker on June 9, 1928, in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Mr. Barrett moved from Iowa to Rankin-Reydon Community in 1926 and has made his home there since that time.
He is survived by his wife of the home, three daughters, Betty Beaty, of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Mrs. Peggy Baker of Tyrone, Oklahoma; Mrs. Janet Carey of Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren, one great grandchild; two brothers; Rex, of What Cheer, Iowa; Kenneth of Alhambra, California; two sisters, Mrs. Leona Hoafen, of Box Holm, Iowa; Mrs. Maxine Johnson of Chapel, Nebraska. Services were conducted Thursday November 15, 1973 in the Reydon community building with Rev. Charlie Simpson officiating. Interment was in the White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Sayre.
