Rossville -- June McCollough, 78, Rossville, died Thursday, May 13, 2004, at her home near Rossville. She was born June 14, 1925, at Topeka, the daughter of Jesse and Agnes Bretz Burton.


She had lived in the Rossville Community since 1945. She grew up in the Silver Lake community and graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1943. She worked for Luce Press Clipping from May 1972 until she retired as a supervisor on April 7, 2000. She was a member of the Countryside Club at Rossville.


She married Fred McCollough on Jan. 26, 1945, in Perry. He died July 2, 1971.


She also was preceded in death by a grandson, Mark Anthony Zemek on July 5, 1967, and by a granddaughter, Amy M. Fox, on July 28, 1996.


Surviving are three daughters, Judy Lundin and Freda Zemek, both of St. Marys, and Carol Jane Tripp, Rossville; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.


The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral home in St. Marys. Burial will be in Rossville Cemetery, Rossville. Mrs. McCollough will lie in state from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys. A family visitation will be there from 6:30 to 8 p.m.


Memorial contributions may be made to Rossville Community Library and sent in care of the funeral home.
