Frank D. Bower was born Oct. 8, 1892, in Kinkaid Township, the son of Cyrus and Emma Kessel Bower. His siblings include Harmon Bower and Homer Bower. Two brothers preceded him in death.
He married November 16, 1931 to Janie Taylor. She died in 1937. They had two daughters, Mrs. Orval Luthy and Mrs. Juanita Wirtz.
Mr. Bower was a lifelong Ava area resident. He was a retired farmer.
He died at the age of 70 in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.
