In 1912 he was married to Dora Banner. To this union five children were born. Preceding him in death was his wife and an infant daughter. His children are Lorena Cordell, Shattuck, Oklahoma, George Jr., Charleston, Arkansas, Leonard, San Diego, California, and Emogene Saunders, Albany, Oregon, 16 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He depended upon his favorite niece, Marie Beaty as she was near him night or day.
George was a typical pioneer with a generous spirit that made him always willing to help others. His life spoke for itself to all who knew him.
Interment in Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
