A graveside service for Mrs. Juanita Howard will be Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Nebo Cemetery. The Rev. David McKelvey will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. Elkins East Chapel is assisting the family.Mrs. Howard, 88, was a lifelong resident of Lauderdale County and the daughter of the late Vernon and Jewell Chandler McCarley. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 35 years, Cecil W. Howard; brothers, Cleveland, Arnold and Glenn.Mrs. Howard is survived by sons, Elvis Howard, wife, Ramona, Killen, Bobby Howard, wife, Linda, Lexington, Gerald Howard, wife, Barbara, Florence, Neal Howard, wife, Janie, Cherokee; brother, Robert A. McCarley, Killen; grandchildren, Anthony Howard, wife, Karen, Nan Stokes, husband, Michael, Matthew Howard, wife, Eydie, Dawn Copeland, husband, Michael, Wesley Howard, Glenn Perry, wife, Kay, Mona Jane Cody, husband, Kenneth, Robert Perry, wife, Melissa; great-grandchildren, Sam Stokes, Dakota Copeland, Josh Cody, Jacob Cody, Aubrey Cody, Garrett Perry and Alexia Perry; numerous nieces and nephews.Mrs. Howard was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Her family fondly remembers Nita's wonderful biscuits, chicken and dressing. She was a dear loving caretaker to her mom.Nita enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She loved playing bingo at Mitchell-Hollingsworth and always seemed to win.Pallbearers will be grandsons and friends.The Howard family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Kathy and the staff of Station Two at Mitchell-Hollingsworth for their loving kindness and attention, and to the Rev.
