Memorial Graveside Services for Carter Brewington will be held Saturday, September 8, 2012, at 11:00 AM at Barnett Cemetery.

Carter Brewington, age 92 of Jefferson City, Missouri, a former resident of Summersville, Missouri passed away at Jefferson City Manor on August 31, 2012.

Carter was born March 20, 1920, in Summersville, Missouri to the late Matt and Mary (Barnett) Brewington.

He married Velma Cooley, and to this union, one daughter, Cathy, was born.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army and served in World War II from August 10, 1942, to January 6, 1946.

He also worked for the Highway Department in Summersville for 20 years until his retirement.

Carter is survived by his daughter, Cathy Fletcher of Holt Summit, Missouri, and step-son, Jim Turner of Pevely, Missouri; four grandchildren, Matthew Richardson and wife, Patty, John Jackson and wife, Jessi, Trish Turner of St. Louis, Missouri, Tracy Guthrie of St. Louis, Missouri; eight great-grandchildren: Jessie Turner, Ashley Turner, Cody Richardson, Meredith, and Turner Guthrie, all of St. Louis, Andy Areniva, Briana and James Jackson of Holt Summit, Missouri.

Memorial graveside services will be held Saturday, September 8 at 11:00 AM at Barnett Cemetery near Summersville under the care of Bradford Funeral Home.
