Foster L Backus, who was First Assistant District Attorney of Kings county under General Catlin, was married last evening [Thursday, April 28, 1887] to Miss Maud Thorburn, at No 11 Clifton place Brooklyn. The Rev. Dr. George E Reed performed the ceremony. Only immediate friends were present - New York Tribune of Wednesday. Mr. Backus' home was formerly in Russell, and he has a large circle of friends in this county who will wish him joy.
