ROBERT M. CARROLL, 74, of 310 N. Hopkins St., Sayre died unexpectedly at his home Friday, March 25, 1988. He was born in Stowell, PA on Aug. 28, 1913, a son of Thomas and Mary Byrne Carroll. Mr. Carroll was a resident of Sayre for 45 years. He was employed at the Lehigh Valley Railroad for 31 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Epiphany Church of Sayre, Sayre Elks Lodge No. 1148, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and a member of the Maddie Corral, Waverly, NY. Surviving are his wife, Katherine at home; three sons, Raymond Carroll of Eldorado, TX, James Carroll of Athens, PA and William Carroll of Phoenix, AZ; five daughters: Mrs. Charles (Betty) Brown, Owego, NY, Marie Carroll of Syracuse, NY, Mrs. Jeff (Marian) Green of Sayre, PA, Mrs. Alvin (Ann) Lord of Brunswick, GA and Ritta Witt of Phoenix, AZ; 19 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two sisters: Anna Burke and Regina Hiza, both of Johnson City, NY. Friends may call at the Jenkins Funeral Home, 111 South Main St., Athens on Sunday from 2 until 4 p.m. and from 7 until 9 p.m. A prayer service will be held Monday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Epiphany Church, Sayre at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Joseph Sammons, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Epiphany Cemetery, Sayre. At 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Elks Members will hold a memorial service at the funeral home followed by a recitation of the Rosary at 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Bradford County Hart Fund, South Main St., Athens. -Towanda Daily Review
