Richard R. Kesterson, 61, of 3550 N. 85th, Kansas City, Kansas, died Sunday at Veterans Hospital. He was born in Miller County, Missouri, and had lived in Kansas City, Kansas since 1940.

Mr. Kesterson was a hoisting engineer for Local No. 101. He served in the U.S. Air Force in World War II.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Mary A. Kesterson, and a son, Richard Albert Kesterson, both of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Conaway, Basehor, Kan., Mrs. Patricia Williams, 10920 W. 57th Terrace, Shawnee, and Mrs. Nina Eagles, Elkland, Mo.; a brother, James Lawrence Kesterson, Blue Springs; six sisters, Mrs. Mary Mueller, Muncie area in Wyandotte County, Mrs. Dorothy Kenslow, 8424 Cernech, and Mrs. Jean Brandenberg, 1250 Ruby, both of Kansas City, Kansas, Mrs. Maude Hollicker, and Mrs. Edna Luper, both of Jefferson City, and Mrs. Eddie Marie Kingsmith, Olathe; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Maple Hill Chapel; burial in Chapel Hill Cemetery.
