Abran Apodaca, age 82, a resident of Albuquerque left us to join the Lord on Monday, September 3, 2012 at 3:50 a.m. surrounded by his loving family.
Abran was preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Dometilia Apodaca, his brother, Leandro and his wife, Chona Apodaca, sister, Mary Gabaldón, brother, Miguel Apodaca and his wife, Evangie Apodaca and sister-in-law, Mary Apodaca. Abran is survived by his wonderful wife of 58 years, Edwina and his children, Kathy Vau, Debra and Ben Woods, Elaine and Jim Durán, Abe and Rebecca Apodaca, Liz and Lawrence Large, Dolores Apodaca and Art Martínez, Anita and Javier Baca and Marie and Ryan Trujillo, 32 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren. Abran is also survived by his brother, John B. Apodaca and brother-in-law, Joe Gabaldón.
Abran was a spiritual loving man who was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church involved in many ministries within the Church. Abran has many extended family and friends both in and outside of the church. His "Garden" has a large display of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who he has proudly called his "Garden".
Abran was a Corporal in the Korean War Conflict.
A Rosary will be recited by a close and personal friend, Joe Silva at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Abran will be laid to rest at Santa Fé National Cemetery in Santa Fé, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be Gary Vau Jr., Benjamin Woods Jr., Jim Durán Jr., Matt Apodaca, Gabriel Large and Javier Baca Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Abran J. Apodaca and Dallas Mooney.
