Robert "Bob" Wild (1899-1955), husband of Opal Pearl (Kimbrell) Wild, was living in Milton, Oregon when he met Opal Kimbrell of Freewater, Oregon (these two towns later merged to form Milton-Freewater). His parents, John & Isabel (Norris) Wild and his brother Norris, all came west from Missouri sometime before their sister Hazel was born in 1917. Bob & Opal both were born in Missouri, but met and married in Northeastern Oregon / Southeastern Washington. They were married on June 5, 1918 in Walla Walla, Washington, with the ceremony performed by Opal's grandfather, Rev. William R. Storms. Opal's Uncle, Albert P. Couch (husband of Opal's aunt Lizzie (Storms) Couch) and Opal's sister, Cecile Mae Kimbrell were their witnesses. Bob & Opal Wild adopted a daughter and named her Melva Lee Wild - she married Arnie (Arnold O.) Ness, who was born in North Dakota to Norwegian parents, in 1954 and Lee & Arnie lived in Portland, Oregon where they had three children.
