Roberta Radford, 76, Butler, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003 at her home. The funeral was Dec. 2 at the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel, Butler, with Brother Ron Dunlap officiating. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Butler. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association. Mrs. Radford was born September 19, 1927 un Freeman, Mo., to Leslie A. and Hazel Alta Sircin Anderson. One of three children, she was raised in Freeman and graduated from Harrisonville High School in 1945. She worked as a nurses aide for Dr. E.H Owen and later went to Kansas City, Mo. working as a typist for Montgomery Ward. In 1948 she moved to Butler, Mo., here she worked at the Butler Hospital. She attended the Church of Christ and was baptized on Dec, 16, 1988. She was an animal lover and enjoyed birdwatching and watching Animal Planet on television. She loved flowers and liked to have many fresh cuts around the house. Cooking, crocheting and listening to big band music were other favorite hobbies. She can be described as humorous and fun natured and was a wonderful cook. She survived four open heart surgeries with the first being in 1974. She relied on her faith in God to take her through each of these surgeries. She leaves a son, Robert Radford and wife Rosanne, Butler, Mo.; two daughters, Pat Gregg, Stockton, Mo., and Linda Cumpton and husband Wes, Butler; a brother, Earl Anderson and wife Naomi, Butler' seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister."
