THREE OAKS, July 19 -- Frank B. Tyson, 54, died Sunday at 8:45 a. in the U. S. Veterans hospital in Oteen, N. C. where he had been a patient since Jan. 1, 1930. His widow, Mrs. Dorothy B. Tyson, lives here at 110 Featherbone ave.

Mr. Tyson was born May 16, 1894, near Knoxville, Tenn. He enlisted in World War I and served 22 months with Co. 105th Engineers. He was overseas 18 months and held the rank of corporal. He was a member of the American Legion post In Oteen, N. C.

Besides his widow, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Victor Fisher, and a grandson of Three Oaks, and two brothers, William Tyson of Washington, D.C., and Lawrence Tyson of Jefferson, N. C.

Funeral services will be held here Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Reformed church. The Rev. Charles Boonstra will officiate. Friends may call at the Tyson home Wednesday and Thursday until the hour of the funeral services.

Randall Couchman post of the American Legion will conduct its ritual at the grave in the Riverside cemetery. Funeral arrangements are being made by the L. E. Lake funeral home. " From The Herald-Press, July 19, 1948, page 8
