Mrs Francis Phillips Succumbs at Age 88
Shelburne Falls - Mrs Alice F McKnight Phillips, 88, of 8 Wellington St., died Wednesday at her home. She was born in Readsboro, Vt. Jan. 24, 1878, daughter of Addison P and Emma (Hicks) L. Goldthwaite. She had lived here for 45 years. She was a member of the Methodist Church and affiliated with the Pine Acres Church in Greenfield. Her first husband was the late George W McKnight and her second husband Francis Phillips died 20 years ago.
She leaves a daughter Alice Eastor of Claremont, N.H.; three sisters Mrs Blanche Boutwell of Fairfax, Vt., Mrs Homer Thomas of West Guilford, Vt., and Mrs Harold Baker of Shelburne; two brothers Archie B Goldthwaite of Cushman and Roy H Goldthwaite of Shelburne and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Friday at 2 at the Smith funeral home with Rev. Ralph Jelley of Pine Acres Church in Greenfield officiating. Burial will be in Arms Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
