Henry Ernest Cash, 46, well-known resident of Converse, SC, died at a local hospital Sunday morning, December 3, 1939, after a lingering illness.
Son of James Henry Cash (1855–1920) and Margaret Jane Jones Cash (1859–1935); born in Tennessee, but moved to Spartanburg County, SC, while a young boy; made his home in the Clifton and Cowpens communities since that time.
Survived by his wife, Lillie Cash; five children, Elmer Cash, Florene Cash, Mrs. Paul Brown, Henry Cash, and Roy Cash; brothers, William Ellis Cash (1881–1940), George Cash, and Judd Lee Cash (1902–1982); sisters, Elsie Cash Revels (1888–1955), Dora Cash Revels, Cordelia Deliah Cash Bible (1877–1962), Nora Essie Cash Craft (1879–1957), and Tennessee Belle Cash Bartee (1886–1947); and one grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted at the Cowpens First Baptist Church at 3:00 PM, Monday, December 4, 1939, by the Rev. H.C. Martin, Rev. J. C. Ford, and Rev. J.C. Burch.
