She was the youngest in her family. Her parents owned a grocery store in Rocky Mount, VA. She lived there until the 1940s, when she moved to Northern Virginia to work as a secretary. She married Glenn Knighton, who served in the army during WWII.
In 2006, she moved to a retirement home in Charlottesville. She loved shopping at thrift stores and eating at buffet restaurants.
She loved playing with my littlest dog Bitsy. She would sneak food under the table to her. Bitsy and her had a special bond.
