Edna Fike Williamson Rea, 68, of Charlotte, passed away Friday, May 2, 2003 at her residence. She was born November 9, 1934 in Canton, OH to the late Raymond D. Sr. and Geraldine Carlin Fike.

A native of Canton, OH, Edna had been a Charlotte area resident beginning in 1985. She was a graduate of Timkin High School and had been employed at Canton Drop Forge. After her marriage her family relocated to Winchester, MA in 1987 returning to Charlotte once again in 1992. Edna was preceded in death by her three sisters, Betty Schmidt, Donna Smith and Lela Fike.

Mrs. Rea is survived by her husband, James F. Rea of Charlotte; sons, Randy Williamson of Columbus, OH and Charles F. Williamson, Jr. of Lima, OH; daughter, Loreen Gieovonnellie of Canton, OH; step-sons, Jay James Rea of Zurich, Switzerland and T. Jeffrey Rea of Deloris, CO; brother, Raymond D. Fike, Jr. of Canton, OH; grandchildren, Heather Malone and Brett Williamson, both of Largo, FL, Samantha Williamson and Charles Williamson, III of Canton, OH, Elizabeth Williamson and Brandon Williamson of Largo, FL, Scott Gieovonnellie of Canton, OH, and Erich, Mark and Vivanne Rea of Zurich, Switzerland; and two great grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Jay Hendler and the complete staff at Presbyterian Pulmonary and Critical Care and to her Hospice Nurse Beverley Vickrey and her Nurse's Assistant Veronica Young of Presbyterian Home Care Hospice.

A memorial service for Mrs. Rea will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 10, 2003 at Quail Hollow Presbyterian Church, 8801 Park Road, Charlotte, with the Reverend Augustus E. Succop, III and the Reverend Marty Halliburton officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Presbyterian Home Care Hospice, PO Box 33549, Charlotte, NC 28233-3549 or to the donor's local chapter of the American Lung Association.

Carolina Funeral and Cremation Center is entrusted with the arrangements.
