Muriel Lee graduated from Hastings High School, then attended Hastings Presbyterian College. During high school and college, she competed in swimming taking second in the state UWW swimming meet. She was also an assistant dance instructor, as well as working in the German department during college. In her first teaching assignment, she became reacquainted with Wayne Hagmann who had also attended Hastings College. They were married on June 1, 1942. Wayne was a Nebraska coach and superintendent of schools. Muriel, at the same time, taught high school English, Home Economics and sponsored pep clubs, school annuals as well as raising and caring for three children. Her home was always there to welcome everyone who came.

Muriel Lee-Hagmann, age 90 of Bellevue born to George Ernest and Mildred Kreglow Lee on April 22, 1918. Preceded in death by husband, Superintendent Wayne E. Hagmann; daughter, Constance Lee Hagmann Hemmer. Survived by: sister, Patricia Lee Stunkel; daughters, Linda Lee and Kristen Hagmann-Lee; grandchildren and great grandchildren. Graduated from Hasting College in 1940 and taught in the Bellevue Public Schools for 25 years. Member of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Private family services were held. WESTLAWN-HILLCREST Memorial Park Funeral Home.
