Mrs. Bare was a native of Mt. Union the eldest daughter of the late Peter R. Shaver, who was the son of Major John Shaver, who was one of the first settlers in this town. Mrs. Bare in other words, was one of the town's oldest settlers, was a useful woman in the community, and represented a long line of devout Presbyterians. Two children survive, Lloyd S., and Edith V., there being three deceased. Mrs. Bare is also survived by one brother, James M. Shaver and Miss Exie Shaver of town. Two sisters are dead: Maggie Shaver and Mrs. C. B. Bowles.
Though up in years we are sorry to note Mrs. Bare's death, as it removes from our church one of the pillars - one who was a charter member in Mt. Union Congregation, one who was always taught to attend and revere the Sabbath school. Our sympathy is extended to the bereaved relatives and friends at this time.
Deceased was married to John Bare, January 1, 1867. John Bare died August 4, 1899. Further obituary next week.
