Bastian
Ernst J. Bastian, 90, of Brillion, died Wednesday at Calumet Homestead, New Holstein.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Brillion Methodist Church. The Rev. Stuart Price will officiate and burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery, Appleton.
Mr. Bastian was born Aug. 19, 1876, at Germany, son of the late Henry and Fredericka Becker Bastian. He married Ida Zick March 9, 1899 at Brillion and the couple farmed in the Brillion area. He retired in 1936 and his wife died Feb. 24, 1943.
Survivors are four daughter, Mrs. Walter Schnell of Marinette, Mrs. Elmer Schnell of Green Bay and Mrs. Nelson Wolfmeyer and Mrs. Donald O'Connor of Milwaukee; three sons, Arno and Lawrence of Brillion and Edward of Pestigo; two sisters, Mrs. Frieda Smith of Oakdale, La., and Mrs. Mayme Koch of Milwaukee, 24 grandchildren and 53 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. Two sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Wieting Funeral Home, Brillion, after 3 p.m. Friday until 10:30 a.m. Saturday when the casket will be moved to church where the body will lie in state until time of service.
