Rita was born the daughter of the late Francois and Regina (Boudreau) Nadeau. She passed on passed away at St. Mary's Regional Hospital

She worked for 25 years at Auburn Wood Heel, and later for St. Mary's Hospital, until her retirement in 1976.

She was a member of the American Legion Post 22 Auxiliary, Holy Cross Senior Citizens, Covenant 50, Horizon 55, and also the Merchandes de Bonneurs. She was an active communicant of Holy Family Church.

She is survived by her two daughters, Linda Schad of Florida, Nancy Whitten and husband, Michael, of Bucksport; two sisters, Florence Dupere of Auburn, and Priscilla Fournier of Lewiston; five grandchildren, Rodney and Danny Poulin, Chelsea, Teagan, and Hannah Whitten; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Lachance; and two sisters, Antoinette Berube and Angelina Levasseur
