Eugene graduated from Fort Morgan High School in 1953. In January 1955 he joined the US Air Force. On August 26, 1955, he married Josephine Moore in Fort Morgan. Eugene continued his military service until December 1958. After his discharge, he attended, and graduated from Colorado State University. Following a short career with Colorado Division of Wildlife, the Green family moved back to Fort Morgan when Eugene joined his father-in-law in the family farm operation.
Eugene was a member of the American Legion, VFW #2551, and the Snyder Bible Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. Eugene is a past president of the Good Sam Travel Club.
Survivors include his daughter, Debra J. Green of Fort Morgan; Michael E. Green, and his wife Sherri of Clay Center, KS; 2 sisters, Betty Patterson of Aurora, CO; and Dorothy Schneider of Joes, CO; 3 grandchildren, Joshua, and his wife Deena of Clay Center, KS; Lacy Medlen, and her husband Ryan of Topeka, KS; and Brian Green of Manhattan, KS. Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, 2 brothers, Lawrence & Harold; 2 sisters, Shirley & Delores; and his parents.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Snyder Bible Church in Snyder, CO. Military honors will be conducted by the US Air Force. Inurnment will be in Serenity Falls Columbarium. Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Eugene Green Memorial Fund c/o Heer & Dahl Mortuaries.
